I have been using this computer now for almost 6 years and I am gonna start pestering the fiance to get a new one. It will benefit her to so I hope its not to hard... But there are so many out there I was wondering what everyone in here thinks. I doubt there will be a general concensus that one is the be all end all. I don;t want to spend insane amounts of cash because the lower the price the better the chances of me actually get it are. Thanks all.

I use the above chair. Its cheap and does its job. I hope NCIX doesnt mind me posting the link as its not really something they would sell.

Replace the "(the stationary store)" with what comes out of a stapler.

LOL Nice one Hyperlight. Yeh personal experience with that chair, great especially with the sale prices that come with it. Does not squeak at all like cheaper chairs, seems very sturdy.

Comfiest chair ive sat in, and ive spent many an hour at LAN Cafes. Sold at the LD, it was about 100 bucks. The armrests feel a bit cheap, but ive put this thing through hell and back. she is still going strong. It doesnt go down any more, but i need to use it at the highest height there is, so thats ok. Probably that time i took the rubber mallet to it to get the bottom piece off when taking it to CTOAN

DO NOT SKIMP ON THE COST OF YOUR CHAIR!!!

this is your body we're talking about. get a good chair. go to different office stores etc and sit in different chairs (don't do it when you're tired tho because then every chair feels good) until you find one you 'really' like.

I've had several chairs and the cheap ones break down quickly and grow uncomfortable quickly. go and spend a fair dime on a good chair...one that supports your back properly, otherwise you'll suffer back pains and issues and it'll be the start of a very long and painful hill down into decrepitness.

I have got to disagree with you there friendly. My $250 and my $75 chair work just as good. I barly notice a difference between the 2.

Good advice Friendly,

I bought this one from a guy off Kijiji. He said he paid $400 for it. I gave him $125. I've seen it on sale for $300 recently at the stationary store (lol hyperlight). Huge upgrade from my last $80 chair, which actually stopped going as high as it used to (due to my weight and constant use). No, I'm not overweight btw! 175lbs is not bad. :)

I would recommend spending around $150-200. Or try and get lucky on kijiji like me.

Pic of my chair! It's actually maroon not brown. I think there was too much light. Oh well. It's leather and seriously comfy.

Oh and one must have on a computer chair.... Padded Arms! honestly its a must.

My old $80 chair had nothing but plastic arms and my elbows would be very sore after long gaming sessions.

in time you will soffer Hyperlight, it's inevitable. a lot of office staff, who sit badly or have bad chairs have backs that degrade until they collapse. you can tell who they are because they're shoulders are sloped...one is lower then the other. I'm pretty sure every principle I had in school was like that. cheapo chairs they had to sit in all day. bad bad bad...

Honestly, the BEST office chair that I've sat in under $500 is from that place that sells the 4 packs of pianos. There's a leather and cloth model. Leather one is a dream. I have like 5 of them in a bunch of different locations.
Cradles your butt for HOURS. Anything over about 15 starts being painful though.

There are a lot of stores out there with $99 leather chair deals. Go out and look and try them once you find one that feels good pick it up.

best are the ones with mesh backs... you can find one as low as 80$ to over $1500

i got a higher end one at my office... best chair I ever sat in.

The chair I actually use for my workstation, is a balance ball (like the giant exercise ones) best thing for your back.

Here is my chair. Its a Sealy Posturepedic memory foam chair . A bit pricey but I find it very comfortable and a good investment.

If you google "sealy posturepedic chair 645080" you should be able to find it

I'd have to agree.
I cheaped out and bought a chair that looks exactly like the only Hyperlight mentioned, but it messages you and can heat up. The problem with it, is that it's not made out of durable materials, so it's got 2 holes in it after 18 months of use. For a 120$ chair, I expected a bit more, but I can't expect much for a 120$ chair. Quality has it's price.
James

I've gotta get one of these chairs. I've been using normal chairs (no swivel, padding, the type you use at dinner tables) for the past say 5 years, and now I feel tempted to buy one of these chairs.

$300 for the Sealy (went on sale for $240 shortly after I purchased, so I got a credit back). Worth every penny.

Was a bit too big for my desk at home, so I'm using it here. Got it tilted back with the adjustable Lumbar support jabbing into my lower back, feels great.
