I get this message often when I turn on this monitor. (Asus PA248Q)

"Power surge on hub port. A USB device has exceeded the power limits of its hub port...."

The computer stays on 24/7... I just turn the monitor on/off when I'm not using the PC.
There is nothing plugged into the 4 USB 3 ports on the monitor.
The monitor's USB 3 is connected to a WDC USB 3 card (NCIX #58280).
Despite all this and what the dialog box tells me, the ports still work fine.

Anyone else?

Either there's a problem with that WDC card OR internal problem with the monitor USB's i dunno

its really hard to tell :(

I'm beginning to think its just a glitch caused by the fact that the monitor (and, therefore the USB3 hub built-in) is being powered off/on with the monitor. I verified the ports are actually off when the monitor is off... Anyway, the ports work fine regardless of the annoying message. Who knows.. :(

Yeah, it started when I got the new monitor and hooked up its USB3 uplink cable. It's connected to a WDC USB3 add-in card, which has two external ports. The other port is connected to a USB3 HDD dock, which has never had any issues.

There could be a problem with the port it is plugged into so try a different port, even a 2.0 port, and see if it stops. Also leave it unplugged and see if it stops if it doesn't stop in another port. Until you narrow down where the problem is you are risking your monitor and whatever you plug into those ports.
