It's been a while, but I tried another of the local micro brews last night. Maybee Brewery in Fredericton. Roseway Red. It's a nice unfiltered very deep red. Listed as a strong ale at 6%. As they say it definitely has the undercurrent of barley, and I find a nice, crisp Hoppy finish. The head is thick at first, but soon falls a thin almost non existent amber colored head. Rate a 8.5

Its been a while since I put anything on here. On Friday we had a family get together and some of this got left in my fridge. I am not in any way shape or fom a pilsner drinker, but it was there, cold and wet on a very hot day. I would have to describe  it as no more than ok. I found it lacking in any real taste and left me "wanting" To use their description:

Crackers are out and pilsners are in. But our pils isn’t your ordinary pils. Ours takes the best of German and Czech styles and blends together a brew worthy of any talking bird. Floral and spicy. Crisp and refreshing. Polly definitely wants this Pilsner.

Polly can have it and I'll pass 5 out of 10 at best

I tried another offering from Wychwood Brewery in Britain last night, and I'm kind of torn on it. I as a rule do not like any kind of a light beer at all, but this one was, well different. I got the definite smell of citrus, but that taste was not really there in the follow through. There is a kind of sweetness, from the honey I presume. All together a really light blonde style beer with none of the bitterness I always associate with a blonde. Very low alcohol at only 3.5, but pleasant and refreshing on a hot summers evening. 7/10

From the brewery: A dazzling 3.5% golden beer. The warming hints of honeyed nectar will spark the intense & sharp gooseberry flames. A refreshing crisp catch smouldering in a citrus aroma that will leave you glowing from inside.

Note: I did not notice the gooseberry at all

Its been a while Since I've tried anything new, but this weekend I did have a couple of new samples. From Trailway in Fredericton. Black Hops; a black IPA. This is a storn unfiltered beer at 7.2% The first note when tasting is a definite chocolate taste with strong hops. What ruined it for me was a rather pronounced citrus type finish. Good other than that

Second beer of the weekend was from Maybee's Brewery also in Fredericton. This was Elevensies Expresso Stout. Also an unfiltered, unpasteurized all natural beer at 5.5%. Delicious with lots of espresso taste and aroma and not overdone on the carbonation. All together one of the better stouts I've tried recently.

While this isn't beer I thought I'd mention as several people were drinking this. Crazy Uncles Craft Hard Root Beer. While not something that I would normally drink I had to at least try it. It's.... like drinking a real old fashioned root beer. I can't think of a better way to describe  it that what the manufacturer does; "Smooth and rich flavour of natural sarsaparilla, sweet birch, wintergreen and licorice root with a creamy vanilla finish. Crisp and refreshing flavour without being overly sweet. This truly is a craft soda for "grown-ups".

Don't shoot me, but I like a 6-pack of Kokanee. Never was into those microbrews. I usually drink just to get a nice buzz and could care less about the taste as long as it's not malt liquor ... ugh.

Ok, went and bought a selection of beer today. Here I am starting my first sample. This is a perfect example of what I like in a beer. Flavor! What stands out are the Citrus notes & depth to the Rich texture of the beer on the tongue. There is a hint of bitterness but only as much as seems natural considering the flavor. IMO this is exact opposite of light and lager beers. They are so hollow, so devoid of anything you could consider as flavorfull. I love this beer. It is 7.1% yet is really easy to drink and smooth in its finish. Perfection! 10/10 easy

Not as good as the last and cost twice as much. It is similar but the flavor knob has been reduced by 40%. It is very easy to drink and I really like the how dense the head of the beer is. There is only a hint of citrus and that is okay too. I notice the Rye but NOTHING like "Fire in the Rye" that I sampled earlier in this thread.

Solid 8.5/10
