I'm putting together a mid range PC for light gaming and heavy applications (mostly Adobe CS6 stuff)

Budget: $1000 excluding monitor
Requirements:
- Handle light gaming (Starcraft 2, Planetside 2) for a few years with only updating the video card
- Handle running 3 or 4 Adobe CS6 products at the same time
- Quiet!
- Small SSD (I'll be throwing in the HDD from last build)

I would get the 3570K if the price isn't too much difference, that way atleast you have the option available to you for overclocking it in the future.

I'm not too familiar with Adobe CS6 programs but maybe upgrading to 16GB of RAM may help. RAM is pretty cheap now so the jump from 8 to 16GB doesn't cost a whole lot.

I'd change the graphics card to a 7850 personally, much better card than a 650 Ti and good price point.

For a quiet case, I would have a look at the Fractal Design R4. It has the noise dampening foam in it and very quiet fans also.

That samsung SSD is the wrong one. You really ought to go for the pro version, since the non-pro version is exactly average in performance. In fact, unless it's the cheapest 120GB SSD you can buy, there's really no point in buying it specifically and any SSD would do.

The only ones you really ought to avoid are OCZ and refurbished drives.

I agree with the ram. Haven't maxed out 8G on my other computer yet but for the price 16 is a good idea. The video card I picked was just because of the price, at half the price of the 7850 I figured I could upgrade later.

The only question I have is why you would recommend the Fractal R5 over the Crusial 550D. Reviews seem similar but the Fractal does appear to be more popular. Just wondering if there if there is a reason why. Something I'm missing?

I agree with getting the K version because the price difference is very little and you get way more benefits.

Nvidia cards have CUDA, which is optimized in Adobe products. It is ideal if you are serious about your adobe softwares.
