Subject: Upgrade Help!?!

Not sure if anyone can help me out with this or if I can even do much but I've got a PC I would like to try and upgrade. At the moment I use it for both gaming and some photo editing and it does both ok but I wouldn't mind a bit more.

I've done my best to find what specs I could but am not sure of what upgrades are compatible. At the moment I on a bit of a tight budget but have managed to install a new video card. Think it came with some on board which wasn't very good. I am unable to tell what sort of motherboard it has even with using a few tools like everest and opening the case to have a look at the board. I have read about this same model coming with a 6 core CPU at the same speed and more memory but am unsure what type.

Dell Studio XPS 7100
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
AMD Phenom II X4 830 2.8GHz
4GB DDR3 Memory
NVIDIA GeForce GT 430 1GHz
450 watt power supply

If I am missing any info or if upgrading this a little bit is a total waste of time please let me know.

you could get some more ram or hard drive space, that's about it.

Oh god why...

Recommended : Overclock the CPU(May need a new heatsink), add another 4GB of memory

Optimal : Same as the above with a new GPU like a GTX650 or Radeon 7770. May need to get a better PSU too, like a 550w. If you have a bit more money to spare, get an SSD, since it wouldn't suprise me if that dell pc used a 5400rpm HDD.

but keep in mind, Dell computers are notorious for being a massive pain in the ass to upgrade, due to almost everything being incompatible for no good reason.

Well it was given to me but it really doesn't sound worth upgrading, better to just save my money and start buying pieces for a new one I guess.

Thanks anyway though

I'd part it out and sell it.
