Hi Everyone,

We've upgraded our old mobile site to a much nicer, newer version.

http://m.ncix.com

The site is still in Beta, so please test it out on your phones and let us know how it works.

If you've got any great ideas for features we should add, please post them here.

If you notice any bugs, please E-Mail me directly at greg*ncix.com with the subject "Mobile Bug found"

Thanks!

Motorola OG Droid/Milestone with the latest version of MIUI ROM (based on 2.3.7 Gingerbread) with Maxthon Mobile browser 2.4.1 and the m.ncix site works perfectly. Using Maxthon's "add to desktop" feature, it's almost as if an app

I like the home store feature but I wonder if it would be possible to set multiple home stores, since I may have more than one NCIX store I'm willing to choose from depending on stock and how far I'm willing to go on a day.

I can't log in. Is there some kind of weird mobile restriction on characters in the password perhaps?

Also it would be super awesome to have a "surprise specials" section in the weekly deals.

Sleek and sexy layout btw. A little slow on my htc desire but that's ok how nice it is makes up for it.

works perfectly on nokia n9 both stock browser and opera. having forums integrated would be nice seeing as it seems to run faster then this old bag of bones website. speaking of which why is the us site so much faster? and why can't i log into it anymore so i can post in forum when this $#h$ pile slows to a crawl.

I love it. Although I believe the sub-filtering might not be working. I went to components - cases- then tried to view htpc or mini-itx and I kept getting errors.

(Motorola Atrix 4G - was using wi-fi)

Hmm it's loading really slowly for me, the regular sites takes less time to fully load. Also it would be nice if the page would expand when you tilt your phone horizontal so we could see the full name of a product on the front page. Btw I'm using a San Francisco with Android 2.2 on dolphin browser HD.

Everything works great on iphone 4s 5.0.1, very clean and fast easy to navigate layout, although I cannot log into my ncix account, says invalid "email/pass" looks good

As others have noted, it is quite slow... and very bursty for me. I'm using an iPhone 4 connected to a 20meg fibre wifi connection... I also notice that the regular site loads faster. Perhaps it is because it is beta and therefore doesn't have a full connection allocated to it.

My login worked fine from my phone. Layout is nice, although I notice that it seems to be easier to design a clean site for phones... perhaps because designers have a much more limited resolution so they can't be lazy and just throw everything on the site in a haphazzard format.

Amazing work, as others have stated it truly does feel like an app I've downloaded. I think I love the loading spashpage thing the most, it's the cherry on top that makes it feel like an app instead of a webpage.

Here's my take on it:
-doesn't feel ncix-y at all, doesn't go with the main website's theme
-the search button on the top right isn't symmetrical with the back button on the left
-how do you actually send the search? I can type it in and hit enter, but there is no "go" button or anything, only a delete  button
-almost always when loading another page, there will be overlapping text for a split second so it looks like it's seriously lagging when it's just rendering the page as it's displaying it. It feels like a DICE game that's terribly rubber-banding.
-WE NEED A FORUM SECTION

Lastly, www.m.ncix.com doesn't send to the website, but it works without the www, however my android defaults to automatically punching in the www for me and I had to delete  it and put in http:// so that could be confusing for some users.

US site has a lot less people browsing it.

US site uses a different database than the Canadian site now. We separated out US customers from Canada when the companies split.

Nokia N9 MeeGo 1.2 on Wifi at home.

Default browser has trouble with the zoom as logging in will have the page zoom in and out a few times before finally going stable to continue browsing. Searching for "7970" froze the browser for a good half a minute. Second search with same terms seems to be fine, but looking up "6970" resulted in the same freezing issue while the screen is zoomed in way too much.

I can't seem to do anything after logging into my account profile, do I need a pending order to have something there? I was hoping maybe I could see at least my old invoices there.

The layout is good and the buttons / menus are fat enough for my fingers to press accurately. However, that ultra long dropdown menu under "browse" is anything but mobile friendly. My screen and pretty sure most other user's mobile screen takes roughly 4 full top to bottom scroll to get through the list. The list has too many terms with no hierarchy and it's overwhelming if I don't know which specific term I'm looking for.

Scenario:
I'm looking for ram
I scrolls down I don't see it.
I read through the entire list up and down before finding 5 menus for DDR, DDR2, 3, flash, and SDRAM.

did not run into anything you mentioned. may just be how the n9 uses wifi. it is something that is supposed to be improved in the next update. try the other browsers available.

Tried it again on Rogers Internet (3.5G) and only stuttered slightly. The browser zooms in when I type, which is good, but when the search results come in after the screen reloaded it's still in the same zoomed in part (where the search input is), hence causing me confusion as I can't see the page loading underneath.

Edit: Ahh, I think i figured it out. This is what I see when I'm searching...

http://img197.imageshack.us/img197/9851/20120109181132.png

When I press "Go", the pop up banner that says it's loading is actually underneath the keyboard which I can't see. This hence makes me think the site / phone is stuttering to load the next page.

Running into an error now.

I go Browse >Components > Video cards > click sub categories and click Nvidia (error loading page)

This happens with both Dolphin HD and the default browser.

VillainRom 7 android 2.3.5 on a SGS2.

Wish there was a way to further filter by a particular type of card IE 570 and only in stock...

Great Addition to NCIX for sure. I'm finding this very responsive using moto Razr Xt910.
Nitpicking, as mentioned a forum feature definitely as I use my phone 70 percent of the time now.
Product Description truncated, if there is a way to wrap the text either in portrait or landscape that would save me from having to view the item to see its exact name.

Otherwise props to the builder!

Blackberry 9300, latest OS 6.0 opera mini browser. Not bad. I couldn't log in. I think it still needs some work. I have no probs on the desktop site with my phone. I also couldn't find a link to the forums. Just all minor stuff really considering its beta. I think with the proliferation of mobile devices, its a very worthwhile endeavor. Keep it up!

I used this a few days ago to buy some ram! I just showed the page of the ram to the sales rep so he could just punch it in their computer. Great site.

Is it possible to add some sort of "wishlist" to the mobile site? I think it would be a useful feature so that you can add stuff to you wishlist and bring it in to NCIX so you could just show it to the sales rep and they could just get the sku's off your wishlist to facilitate your order faster. :)

The site itself works fine, but when I click on items for sale on the main page it directs me to another item with another SKU.

Running on Motorola Attrix 4G under the latest version of Gingerbread on Opera mini.

LOVE the mobile site! That'll be much better when I'm doing price comparisons at a store.

I would love to see an Android app (well you could make one for those Apple people too if you want) that does the following 3 things:

1. When I'm at a store that sells the same products I can run the NCIX app and use my phone to scan the product and have it come up with the product details and price at NCIX.

2. I can receive notifications on my phone whenever an item in my Wish List goes on sale.

3. I can receive notifications on my phone about the extreme deal of the day or receive notifications about really hot deals.

Just an idea if you guys are bored.
Great job on the mobile site. Keep it up!
