Still sitting in a pile waiting for the motherboard.
was hoping to get into one of these early, however; the fact that nary a Motherboard to be found with the 370 chip set (and be an upper tier MB).
Will wait until they have more out "in the wild" and see if they have bios problems (as mentioned for the Asus ROG.
Personally, want to get this one
MSI X370 XPOWER Gaming Titanium ATX AM4 DDR4 CrossFire SLI USB3.1 Motherboard
None I went with Intel 7600k

I decided on the CPU (R7 1700) and MB (Asus CrossHair VI), but I have yet to find a mem set that can do 4x8GB b3200 and CL14 or 15, not even the FlareX from GSkill (which can do 16GB no problem). So till then, am researching (the 3700bCL17 works but its a fortune and a half)
hey Jack, nothing Ryzen does well with all 4x DIMM sockets filled. best you can get is 2400mhz, from all I've read.
if you use the Corsair LPX, you can get 3200mhz on 2x 8GB.
SKYMTL did extensive testing and commented on my HWC post that it's impossible currently, but with more BIOS and microcode updates, should be more favorable in the next bit.
so, grab a 4x8GB 32GB kit of the LPX C14 3200mhz and use 16GB of it.
I know the rule of thumb is more RAM is usually better than less, but faster...but the speed difference is so significant, I'd run benchmarks to see what does better. 16 at 3200mhz or 32GB at 2400mhz.
I'll likely buy in once there is a better selection of motherboards, especially mITX.
16GB is a joke for me, I need 32GB RAM / 8 cores for my non-gaming needs. Otherwise I would not even need to upgrade to a Ryzen 7 given I have a 4790K.
BTW, the FlareX can do 16gb (2x8gb) out of the box 3200 Mhz and CL14 which is excellent for gamers. So will the G.Skill Trident Z 3200 CL14 kit (2x8gb).
16gbt3200 will def be faster than 32GBt2400
Like I said, there are threads of 32GB done with 4x8GB G.Skill 3733 CL17 kits running at 3200 CL14 (check hwbot.org), so its not like its impossible.
Ryzen wasn't out when I decided to upgrade . The 7600k is solid plays everything and is matched well with vCard and ssd
It'll be a little while for ITX (some folks are saying June), and BIOS updates trickle down from ATX/370 chipsets first. RVz01 sits empty.
Want to ''upgrade'' to an RVZ01B-E because it accepts a PSU with larger fan (less noise in theory), no optical drive (I'll just pull the big BDRW out of another build and throw it in a USB3 enclosure if rarely needed - old anime lol).
Silverstone SFX-L 500W PSU
"???" motherboard (may be chasing unicorns, but want an Asus AM4 Impact)
1700x with Cryorig C1, NH-L12, or something else (uncertain). Some folks say that there's more room in there than Silverstone's "max recommended clearance", but they may have been accounting for case fan.
Flare X 3200 C14 2x8GB
(have already) 2x 1TB Crucial MX200 SSD
(have already) GTX 980 with shroud removed and Be Quiet 120mm fans zipped/DS taped to the cooler
Though the other part of me just wants to do mATX and use a Bitfenix Prodigy M instead.
Ryzen 1700, Gigabyte AM4 Gaming 3 board (back order...), Zalman neo z9 case, using my old hard drives and PS, recently got the Aorus Gigabyte gtx 1080 card and now the RAM!
Bought this, not sure if it would work fine Corsair Vengeance Lpx 32GB 2X16GB DDR4 3000MHZ C15-17-17-35 1.35V Memory Kit Black, after all, it is LPX and should be samsung chip, although dual rank.
I don't really need 32gb now but games now want 16gb already and I don't want the headache of upgrading. Besides, if bios gets better then my 2 sticks of 16gb may work just as well as 4 sticks of 8gb anyways. Also I PM those ram to $290, which seems like a good deal.
MOBO: ............ need an itx board RAM: Corsair LPX 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 3200MHz
CASE: Node 202
GPU: RX 480 8gb
Whenever I can get my hands on an itx board I'll be sure to update... :(
