Need firewire? If so make sure its a T.I. chipset, has the best compatibility with audio equipment.

If you are serious about music, don't count on the internal DAC. Get a decent external DAC that can take USB. One of those budget DAC is Calyx Coffee which is using the sought after ESS Sabre chips in toys price. It has decent headphone output as well.
