Subject: PVR Backend recommendations?

So, I am in my second stage of HTPC's, looking to get Live TV Playing through XBMC (12.0 Frodo) Which now supports Myth TV and Media Portal.

Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations for the backend/front end I should go with? I played with MythTV a few years ago and it was an absolute nightmare, anyone have any recent experience with it?

I am leaning towards Media Portal right now, as it can run right on my WHS 2011 box, without the need for a Linux VM or Linux on a physical machine for MythTV. I have done some basic testing with Media Portal, and quality was not the best due to the cabling I was using (Old beat up RG6 cable, was the only one long enough to reach my server)

I currently have 4 USB Tuners, but depending on how it goes, I may upgrade to some better tuners, I just have an assortment of Happauge 850's, 950's, and the USB one. Not the greatest, but for now they would work. They all work with Media Portal, unsure of MythTV.

All of the front ends would be XBMC 12.0, running the correct corresponding Front end. So any suggestions/recommendations? Is there a better solution to look into?

We will also be keeping our Shaw HD PVR, GF Will not give it up, and mostly just uses it for VOD, and HBO/Movie channels. Plus she has it nearly full of stuff she wants to watch, so it will remain connected.
