I've just finished installing this in my new system, and am very unimpressed with how loud it is. My previous air-cooled setup was MUCH quieter, even at full load.

This is already my second h100i, the first one I RMA'd for unquestionably too noisy (sounded like a really bad bearing). This one is better, but has me wishing I had stayed with air cooling because of the noise.

Have I received two lemons? I thought the whole point of WC was less noise...

I think it helps if u install the software for it. my antec 920 was noisy until i installed the software and i was able to choose a quieter mode. i also should have never gotten my watercooling setup. it was so noisy the first time i experienced it.

if you have it on the full 2700RPM's it is bound to be at least audible.

try turning it down a notch.

The other option is to replace the stock fans with noctua's and run them at half speed, Should be very quiet.

Wouldn't this be a better choice?

Agreed. Either replace the fans or put them on a fan controller. I have a h60 and it sounds like a damn jet plane when the fan is maxed.

There shouldn't be much noise coming from the pump though. If you can hear that over any of your fans there might be a problem. You should only hear a very fast ticking like sound when you have your head close to it. Anything louder and somethings up.

Main reason I placed those in the showcase is because they have much higher static pressure and are better suited to using on a radiator.

I tried Noctua fans on my h100 in the past, they produced an irritating whine. I switched to some cougar vortex and I was happy.
